Nine Peninsula teachers will be honored as Educators of the Year as part of an award presented by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Rotary Club.

Two Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District elementary teachers, Molly Amloyan from Vista Grande and Jennifer Stoddart from Montemalaga, earned the award, as did Ridgecrest Intermediate educator Sandra Kim.

Also honored will be Kat Banales, a teacher at the private Peninsula Heritage School, Chadwick staff member Lindsay Dorman, Rolling Hills Preparatory School educator Katherine Hagee, Palos Verdes High School drama and music teacher Nicole Thompson and Marymount California University advisor Michael Fileta.

Curriculum Officer Nathan Darling, who teaches at the Salvation Army College for Officer Training, rounds out the group of award winners.

A dinner to honor the winners will be held Nov. 1 at the Palos Verdes Golf Club. Reservations must be made by Oct. 18 and more information is available at RotaryPVP.com.
