The PVPUSD offers a comprehensive benefit package to full time employees. Medical, dental, and vision plans are offered. The District also offers life insurance, IRC Section 125 plans, TSA 403(b) and 457 participation.

2017 Group Insurance Information

Medical, Dental and Vision Open Enrollment

The “Open Enrollment” period for Medical, Dental and/or Vision Plans is September 12, 2016 through October 7, 2016 with changes effective January 1, 2017.  You may add coverage or dependents during this period.  Dependents may be deleted anytime.

Regarding medical plans, if you are selecting an HMO, it is advisable to designate your physician.

CalPERS has created a website; “The Chooser” which helps you to select the health plan that’s right for you.  Visit www.calpers.ca.gov to use the Chooser.

The “Open Enrollment” forms are available below and also in the Human Resources and Health Benefits offices.  Return form to Patricia Stanovich, Human Resources Account Clerk, at District Office by Friday, October 7, 2016.

Pharmacy Changes
Beginning January 1, 2017, OptumRx will act as the Pharmacy Benefit Manager for a majority of CalPERS health plans. OptumRx will replace CVS/caremark in administering prescription drug benefits for about 486,000 CalPERS members and their families.  For additional information and to view the health plans affected Click Here.

 

Blue Shield Net Value Changes
Blue Shield will no longer be offering the Blue Shield Net Value HMO plan to CalPERS members effective January 1, 2017.  For employees that currently have Blue Shield Net Value, a new plan must be selected. If you do not select an alternate plan, you will automatically be enrolled in Blue Shield's Access+ HMO plan. View Letter from Blue Shield
