Bringing Fun to the Run

Students recently participated in the annual Lunada Bay Fun Run.  This year, the kids brought the FUN to the RUN!  The day was a celebration of students and our unified community.  It was a wonderful event where all kids gathered together to run for the cause of performing their personal best and supporting out school in a fun way.  Magical school spirit permeated the event because of the visiting PVHS students who joined the fun to support the kids.  Kids entered the track arena by running under the "tunnel" of arms formed by the high school students representing the cheerleaders, ASB club and the boys Varsity Cross Country Team.  Music and cheers from the teachers, staff, parents, grandparents and even Splash the Dolphin welcomed students to the run.  Kate Kresser, a freshman at Palos Verdes High School beautifully sang the Star Spangled Banner.  Kristin DeLeo from Electric Kids led the kids in a fun warm-up.  Students showed their school spirit and fun with crazy hair, socks and t-shirts.  Each student had a podometer to help them track their progress around the track.  The cross country team led off the student runners, while ASB members like Tre Gonzales supported the younger students to keep going and try thier best.  It was an awesome event to see the encouragement across all levels of students, staff, parents and community members.  The fun was had by all!
