Parents Make a Difference

The success of PVPUSD schools is due to many factors but one of the most significant is our parents. PVPUSD parent volunteers and PTA partnerships help provide a World Class education with a myriad of opportunities for students that enrich instructional programs.

PTA units across the District collectively volunteer between 200,000 – 250,000 hours each year to support students, staff and school administration.

An important component of their efforts is ongoing advocacy in Sacramento. Each year our Council PTA organizes Capitol Convoy, an event that provides students, parents and staff the opportunity to lobby legislative representatives at an annual trip to the state capitol. The PVPUSD team meets with elected officials to prioritize educational funding and to support initiatives that enhance every child’s potential.

On the local level in our schools, PTAs help fund the following programs:

  • Art At Your Fingertips

  • Capitol Comes to Campus

  • Capitol Convoy

  • Cultural Assemblies

  • Disaster Supplies

  • Field Trips

  • Libraries

  • Mock Elections

  • Parent Education Programs

  • Red, Yellow & Green Weeks

  • Reflections

  • Sacramento Safari

In addition, each year PTAs donate the funding necessary to provide disaster supplies, supplemental classroom materials, field trips, school assemblies and technology for our children.

PVPUSD is fortunate to have such a high level of parent involvement and support.  Our children’s educational opportunities increase with every parent who joins PTA and our families benefit from PTA’s ongoing partnerships with PEF, booster clubs, legislative representatives and the wider community.
