the role of the cancer hat PV high is to help students in all aspects of their lives academic counseling personal social counseling than anything related to College and Career counseling as well we start working with the students as incoming 8th graders in the spring time will meet with them talk about what to expect in high school how to be successful in high school Badoo scheduling with them as well and then starting right off in freshman year we have orientation day and we try to keep an indoor policy so they can always come in and see us if they need help with anything along the way it is really nice to be a school counselor in to be able to do everything I wanted to meet best families getting to know a student's thanks to PDF we have exceptionally lower numbers than that state average for counselors and that just last immensely what were able to revive to our students into the school in the community as councillors would definitely not be possible without the support of the Ed Foundation and we're very grateful for everything that they provide for our office and for the school because it helps our students every day to be able to follow their dreams and pursue their the College and Career Center is a place for Tire Community it's a place for freshmen as well as seniors and everyone in between we are here to provide free resources for all and we really do strive to have not just free but fabulous resources Jillian I'd ask you a bunch of questions about what you want to do in your career and they can help you find the college that's right a big part of what we do in the college in your Center is Supply many evening events where parents and students can attend events together  to learn different college application processes to learn about College admission testing to learn about financial aid and scholarships we please have Representatives it come out to talk to us specifically about applying for scholarships applying for financial aid  sweet simply want students to have options we want them to have opportunities we want them to make educated choices together with their families where is definitely one of the best places on school because I know a lot of kids even myself like don't even know anything about college and can just go in there and like plain out everything they become empowered and they really feel that they they've got it down they know how to present themselves they understand how to interview well and then they come back and they tell us how I've grown so much from this experience and that really makes us so excited we serve our community so much through the generosity of Palos Verdes families their generous donations to the Ed Foundation we know that are college career would not be possible without your support so thank you so much
