Teacher of the year Kristin Biggins talks about her 31 years in PVPUSD

I've actually been a teacher at in the TV PUSD School District 4:30 Junior's 32 if you count my senior year of high school I was a noon Aid at Lunada Bay Elementary School but as far as teaching Ivan very blessed and lucky to be a second grade teacher for all 31 years at souleiado only Auto is a very unique school and that we have open classrooms so I am in a building with the other first and second grade teacher so when I get here in the morning very blessed like it's see the other teachers that I work with and time to collaborate and work and then my own chairs that come and help in the classroom Tuesday work with families is a lot of fun we just today had a big room in our building where we had all the second graders come in and had a large lesson on Earth Day so so I feel very lucky and blessed towards here I think about it I feel like there's so many memorable moments that highlight Community here on the TV. we have students and families from all over the world everywhere it's a very diverse community and in our International Fair parents and families host the booze and there's lots of different types of food and cultures that we learn about and then this I'm the fourth grade did dances around the world for the whole community and the students they had a Special Assembly so we had dances we had students doing the drumming the Chinese students did it hold running show so it just really need it just always really warms my heart just what a nice Community we have here. Out at the district level K through 12 and I had so many amazing teachers that really put their hearts and souls into teaching me not only as a student in my education but also just valued me as a person and I would say I feel like it's just our pvpusd community is just a full circle Community it involves students teachers parents and the community and it's just a wonderful place to be I think it goes back to what I was talking about about coming full circle as a student here in K-12 I had fantastic teachers just to name a few or like mad such a positive impact on my life not just educational a but as a person they really valued me and saw me and I was a really shy kid so that it made a lasting impact on me and it's been really wonderful to take those lessons I learned from them and pay it forward to my students teach me the value of getting to know each child as an individual and coming at them educationally through who they are as a person and how they learn best and what inspires them I think it's just been really a fighting to also to advance a student here and a teacher but I am now I have children of former suit I've had a nephew of a former student I've had two or three teachers themselves one happens to be a fourth grade teacher here at montemalaga and so Christina Reid and then I just ran at Starbucks and he now a Navy SEAL and I just I don't know what makes me really proud of the whole child and so much so that the community comes back and wants so proud of just the full circle that the community makes here in our district
