Superintendent Search

The PVPUSD Board of Education is in the process of conducting a search for the District’s next Superintendent. Education Support Services Group (ESS), an executive search firm, was selected by the Board on May 2nd to advise the district in this important process.
 
At the Special Board of Education Meeting on May 16th, Education Support Services (ESS) Advisors, Dr. Suzette Lovely and Dr. Gary Rutherford, discussed the details of the hiring process, timeline, community input survey, and focus groups with the Board. 
The Position
 
The PVPUSD Board of Education invites highly qualified educators with proven leadership skills to apply for the position of superintendent in this truly superior district. The superintendent provides the overall leadership for curriculum and instruction, standards and assessment, finance, budgeting, personnel and school facilities. The superintendent is also responsible for the development of communication, collaboration, and outreach with the community, parents, staff and Board. The school board is working with ESS https://www.essinformation.com/ a subsidiary of the law firm to which we are under contract, AALRR. ESS will lead a rigorous search. The Board will seek, receive, consider and review all input from the community, review all candidate applications, interview those candidates determined by the Board and select the new Superintendent. ESS’ experience and background was shared at our special board meeting on May 2nd and is attached here ESS Proposal.
Our goal is to select a superintendent this summer; however, our board is committed to selecting the candidate who best fits our district, regardless of timeline.
The Board will be soliciting input on the characteristics, experience, and skills desired in the next superintendent via an online survey and stakeholder meetings in the early summer. This input is a critical part of the process. Please check your email over the next month for more details.
With the assistance of ESS, all information gathered will be presented to the Board and then compiled, summarized, and incorporated into the Superintendent Position Profile / Description, which will be published here following board review. 
By law, the Board is solely responsible for hiring the new superintendent. The Board will seek, receive, and consider all input from the community, review all applications, interview the candidates determined by the Board, and select the new superintendent. 
Updates regarding the superintendent search process will be posted here. The Board will also provide updates at its regularly scheduled board meetings and through our Monday messages.
