What is an Interdistrict Transfer Release?
A requirement of the application process is a release from the student's district of residence. The student is responsible for obtaining a release from their district of residence.

Do I have to wait until the application window opens  to request an interdistrict release my the school district of residence?
No, the process of getting an interdistrict release can begin immediately .
 
 
If a grandparent lives in the Eastview area can a grandchild residing in another district apply for an interdistrict permit?
No. The Eastview area of Rancho Palos Verdes is located within the boundaries of the Los Angeles Unified School District.
 
 
Can a parent make a school request?
Permits are based on space available. There is a transfer request option after a student has been enrolled.
 
 
Is the interdistrict permit available for Preschool?
No. Interdistrict permits are for students in grades TK-12.  Fee-based preschool programs do not require students to be a resident.
 
 
Is there child care at all schools?
There is a before/after school child care option at all elementary and intermediate schools.
 
 
Do permits need to be renewed every year?
Permits must be renewed when a student matriculates to 6th grade and 9th grade.
 
 
Is there a sibling privilege?
No. Each application will be considered independently based on grade level and program.
 
 
For interdistrict transfers related to grandparent residency, is priority given based on the date the application is submitted?
The deadline for interdistrict applications related to grandparent residency is July 15.  There is no priority given to applications based on the date submitted.  All applications submitted during the application window of 3-15-21 through 7-15-21 will be considered equally.
 
 
When is placement at a school confirmed?
By the end of the first full week in August.
 
 
If my application is approved, what is the next step?
The PVPUSD Enrollment Center will send an email notifying applicants when it has been determined that space is available to accept the student.  At that time, approved applicants will receive instructions on how to compete the enrollment process.
