Expanded Learning Opportunities Program

What is the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP)?

The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) is a state-funded program that PVPUSD introduced in January 2023.  “Expanded learning” means after school, summer, or intersession learning programs that focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of pupils through hands-on, engaging learning experiences. This program is intended to support qualified TK-6th grade students with after school, inner session, and summer programs for a minimum of 9 hours of care each day (which includes the full instructional day).

This program must be offered to all unduplicated students (foster, free/reduced lunch, English language learners).

It is offered at NO cost for students who qualify for free or reduced-priced meals, are experiencing housing instability, or are foster youth.

Students who are English Learners may attend for a fee.

Please see California Education Code Section 46120 for more information.

What does it mean for PVPUSD?

PVPUSD, in partnership with our PV Kids' Corner program and PEF, will provide in-person after school expanded learning opportunities at each of our elementary schools for TK - 5th grade and at each intermediate school for 6th grade. All TK-6 students who qualify will be offered these opportunities for the 180 days that schools in session, during the summer, and during school breaks. This program is intended to support students for a total of 9 hours inclusive of the school day and for up to 9 hours on non-school days.

TK-5 grade students who are enrolled in our ELOP Kids' Corner program are eligible for additional enrichment activities provided at their school site by PEF.

How do I enroll my student?
