The Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District is pleased to announce the final decision of the Department of Toxic Substance Control (DTSC). The DTSC has issued a no further action (NFA) determination, resolving an investigation lasting nearly two years. This concludes the investigation after numerous soil samples, analysis of data, public meetings, news reports, and legal fees on behalf of PVPSUD and our local AYSO soccer organization resulted in no findings meeting the stringent and conservative criteria set forth by the DTSC. All signs, fencing, and tarps will be removed shortly.
Superintendent Don Austin's statement regarding this matter:
On behalf of our Board of Education, I would like to thank the community for their patience and confidence throughout this matter. I would also like to thank our partners at AYSO for their past, present, and future partnership to serve the kids of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. We are happy to close this matter and get back to the important work of teaching and learning at one of the top school districts in the entire nation.
