- Advancement on the mathematics course sequence will be determined by last successfully completed course.
- Placement into PVCM 6 Accelerated, PVCM 7/8 Accelerated, Algebra 1, Honors and/or AP courses will be determined by last successfully completed course and/or teacher recommendation.
- The recommendation process will be completed in spring each year.
- Students entering grades 6-12 who do not meet the criteria for the Accelerated, Honors and/or AP courses and choose to enroll must fill out a Request for Placement form below.
FORMS MUST BE SUBMITTED THROUGH THE ONLINE PLATFORM (links below). Paper copies of the form will not be accepted.
Out-of-District Courses (9-12 Grades)
Per Board Policy and Administrative Regulation 6146.11, PVPUSD high school students may fulfill graduation requirements through alternative means.
Any outside course fulfilling graduation requirements that will be posted on the student’s PVPUSD transcript must be pre-approved by the high school. Students may take up to 8 semesters (equivalent to 4 year-long classes) outside of PVPUSD, with no more than 4 semesters/2 years per academic discipline; in Mathematics, the maximum allowed is 2 semesters/1 year.
Requests will not be granted for Language Arts courses or Algebra 1. Those must be taken through PVPUSD.
